Wineries: The Southwest Michigan Wine trail is an extensive group of wineries that begin at the Indiana/Michigan border and stretch up to within a few miles of the DeLano Mansion. We have a winery guide listing hours and directions to all of the wineries. Please ask your innkeeper for referrals and suggestions so you can experience Michigan wine country.
Art: Called the Third Coast, the West Michigan coastline is home to a wide variety of artists working in many different mediums, including glass, ceramics, metals, and paints. The Blue Coast Artists Tour stretches throughout the countryside, so make a day of it and enjoy.
Golf: Take in a round of golf at one of the many courses available, such as the Lynx, Cheshire Hills, Clearbrook, and the Ravines. There is a course for every level of talent and budget.
Skiing: Allegan County has two downhill ski resorts; Timberridge, and Bittersweet. They are both just a short drive from the Inn. Snowboarding can also be found at Bittersweet. The DeLano Mansion offers several ski packages, and we can assist you.
Antiques: Opportunities for antiquing abound in the Allegan area. Two antique shops are located just blocks from the Inn, and many are located in the area. Let our staff help guide you to the best in the area. That is what we ourselves love to do. Running on the last Sunday of the month, April through Sept, the Allegan Antiques Market has over 350 dealers. You can spend all day shopping there if you wish.
For activities, just about anything can be found in the Allegan area. From biking the 33-mile Kal-Haven Trail, hiking or birding at the Allegan State Game Forest, and cross-country and downhill skiing at Bittersweet Ski Resort to shopping. We would be happy to help you find the best that the area has to offer to make your stay with us here at the DeLano Mansion Inn one to remember.
